Motivation

We intend to educate and enlighten the community to the potential of and existing free software projects involved in communication infrastructure. This includes communications over the public telephone networks and next generation telephony as well as web services. The speakers chosen for this year are personallly involved in leading various projects active in this area.

Projects

The following freely licensed projects are being represented so far this year.

  • GNU Bayonne
  • GNU oSIP / Partysip
  • Asterisk
  • dotGNU
  • Mozilla
  • Infotel

Speakers

This year we have speakers that are either leading or otherwise activily involved in various free software projects.

  • David Sugar will speak about GNU Bayonne and dotGNU
  • Aymeric Moizard will speak about GNU oSIP and partysip
  • Mark Spencer will speak about Asterisk
  • Jason Spence will also be speaking about GNU Bayonne
  • Abdul-Wahid Paterson will be introducing infotel
  • Tristan Nitot will be speaking about Mozilla

Events

In addition to the speaker presentations, there may be other special events scheduled during this year's LSM meeting for this topic. The only one I am currently aware of is the GNU Bayonne 1.0 release party, to be held nearby in the French city of Bayonne.
